My intention was to use it as a backup UPS for my desktop pc. My desktop pc only pulls about 200 watts so it could certainly handle it. After playing around with it I decided it was better suited as an emergency power center. It's still a good product, just not really designed primarily as a pc UPS. Some of the reasons are as follows. The power cord is a little flimsy and it's not grounded. There is a switch on the backside that turns on and off the AC output portion. The switch that turns on the DC output is on the front. There should have been a resettable circuit breaker installed instead of a blow fuse for overcurrent situations. Not sure if it's UL listed, it certainly doesn't say so on the product itself. It does excel as an emergency power center and I think it should be advertised this way. It would be good for emergency preparation, camping, tailgating, etc. It's lightweight, has 120v modified... We have frequent power outages out in the rural area we live, whenever there is a major windstorm, so this is useful for charging various items, but in general, this is permanently plugged in and the source of power for our cable modem, internet phone router, alarm system router, and standard wifi router. The theory here, is that even when the power goes out, we at least still have wifi and internet for all the connected devices - some are more important than others - for 8 or more hours. A previous UPS we use, would only last for about 2 hours maximum. The only gotcha with using it as a UPS is that it doesn't switchover the power quickly enough for these sensitive electronics not to notice.
